2019 Senior Portraits | Fairfax Senior Photographer

I know what you’re thinking… Wasn’t it just yesterday I was dropping off at Kindergarten and here it is Senior year!  How did we get here?  I know because I myself am a Mom of a High School Senior this year and I freely admit to crying on the first day of school.  For many teens, this year will be filled with milestones and a Senior portrait session will celebrate them.  It’s typically the last year with friends they grew up with and maybe their last year under your wings.  It’s also the time these teens are on the cusp of something so great…about to see the world and plan for their future.  Senior photographs capture this exciting time as it is now so you can remember what an amazing, bright and curious human your baby has become.

Sessions are currently booking for 2019 Seniors.  They can take place at a location of your choice…perhaps somewhere that holds a special place in your heart.  Whether it’s a natural vibe or city setting you are thinking of, we can bring your vision to life.  Most Seniors use their portraits for invitations, gifts, social media and for Graduation announcements too.  Sessions begin at $300.  I look forward to hearing from you!

A Night at Urban Posh

I was thrilled to capture these shots from the Sip and Shop event at Urban Posh Boutique in Historic Occoquan, VA.  Angie and Pam have created the most fabulous collection of clothing and accessories…

The styles are clean, classic and fashion forward and when you add in the coolest, most helpful staff,  it’s pretty clear Urban Posh will continue to be a shining success.  I can’t wait to go back and do some shopping for myself!!

And those toes!!  I’m SO grateful to be able to capture these moments.  Babies change and grow so fast and I hope these images help this new family to hold on to their memories.

First Communion Memories

Spring is finally upon us and that means First Communion celebrations are almost here!  Capture your little cutie with a session to remember this most special day.  I find it best to get photographs done before the ceremony so you can relax and enjoy the moment.  Sessions are $300 and include indoor and outdoor shots, weather permitting.  Email, FB message or call to schedule…spots are filling up!

What a nice surprise to see this pop up on my Facebook page…

Adoption agency in Maryland. Childrens Home and LSS Adoption agency in Virginia. Adoption agency in VirginiaYou see, this image is from a recent session I did for one of the most amazing families, BUT  it’s also an ad promoting the very same Adoption Agency we used to bring us to our daughter 9 years ago!   The work they do, day in and day out to bring together children and families is outstanding.  MUAH Children’s Home…I’m grateful as ever.

The best camera is the one you have with you.

The big girl camera took a little rest as I decided to capture some memories of our long weekend in OBX with only the I Phone…

With the beautiful and unusual February weather,  it was basically beach walk, eat, repeat with a few games of Jenga thrown in between…

Oh, and there was time with just the hubs and a good cup of coffee…

What??  Is that me actually IN a photograph?!   Yes, the best camera is the one you have with you… to document your days, the moments you want to look back on even if it’s with your cell phone.  It’s easy, convenient and with today’s cell phone camera features, you can really get your shot.  Who cares if it’s not technically perfect…it’s your story that’s unique and worth telling. Connection over perfection, right?  Go out there and preserve your memories!

Showing Off!

I just can’t resist sharing some of my favorites from 2016.  Boy was it hard to choose which images to share!  I am so grateful to the families who have chosen me to preserve their memories.  Great friends have been made along the way and the journey has only just begun…

Aren’t they just gorgeous?  Thanks for taking a look back with me.  I just can’t wait to capture moments for my 2017 families!

It really is a challenge to get a family of six together for a family photo session,  but we did it and I couldn’t be more thrilled!  This beautiful group was grown through biology, Korean adoption and Chinese adoption…

They really are a shining example of what love is, of what acceptance is and what an open heart looks like…

This Mom and Dad are doing something right…Kids who are bright, talented, diverse and I should mention one of them is off to collage in only a few months!

In between rain showers and even with everyone’s crazy schedules, we made it happen.  What an honor to know them and a greater privilege to get to photograph them.

50 Years

Have you ever been the host of a party while trying to document that same party with photographs to remember all the great moments? Man is it hard. I did my best this past weekend as we celebrated my parent’s 50th wedding Anniversary. Yes, you read that right…50 years of marriage!! How incredible is that? Although my images may be a little bit blurry or not quite the angle I would have really wanted, who freakin cares? It’s still documented and my parents are on a high from the evening.

We picked them up in a limo, toasted to 50 more happy years together and presented them with their gift. Tickets to Macinac Island, Michigan… The location of one of their favorite old movies “Somewhere in Time” starring Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour…

The next stop was Old Town Alexandria for the best Old Fashioneds and sodas for the kids…

And then there was dinner,  where our family from New York had just driven 5 hours to surprise Mom and Dad…
